Reach-in Refrigerator for pharmacy and chemist
A full-height solid-door upright for larger pharmacies and hospital pharmacies holding bulk cold-chain stock.
Larger pharmacies and hospital pharmacies need more cold-chain capacity than a counter unit offers. A solid-door upright holds temperature steadily and loses less cold through its doors than glass, which helps during power cuts. It provides a lot of shelf space in a small footprint, and stainless interiors are easy to clean. Bulk stock in the upright can feed a smaller dispensing refrigerator, keeping door openings on the bulk unit to a minimum.
How to configure it
- Set it to around +5 °C and monitor with an independent, calibrated logger with alarm.
- Keep a gap between stock and the walls and between shelves for airflow.
- Label shelves by product and keep stock in original packaging.
- Put it on backup power and know how long it holds temperature in an outage.
Mistakes to avoid
- Putting stock on the bottom of the cabinet or against the evaporator, where temperatures differ most.
- Skipping maintenance such as condenser cleaning, which leads to drift in hot weather.
The reach-in range
Upright stainless cabinets in one-, two- and three-section builds, with full or half doors. Refrigerator, freezer, dual-temperature and convertible versions share the same body, so a kitchen can standardise on one footprint and one set of spares.
